Guest Speaker: Karen Lynch, Special Education Advocate at Taconic Resources For Independence, Inc.
- What is the Committee on Special Education (CSE) Process?
- How does the committee determine if my child is eligible for special education services?
- How can I prepare for the meeting?
- How do I get my child’s services? What services are available for my child?
- Understanding your school’s responsibilities, and your rights.
- What other resources are available outside the school to help you and your child.
Karen Lynch has been a special education advocate at TRI for the past 2 years.
She regularly holds workshops on special education rights. She is also the president of the special education parent advisory council in Wappingers School District.
About the Arlington Support Group:
This is a parent organized group that meets three times a year and provides a venue for parents and educators within the Arlington School District to meet and discuss issues. It is open to all parents and educators of elementary, middle or high school age students having special needs, an IEP or 504 .
