BUDGET VOTE, TUESDAY May 20th

Please remember to vote on Tuesday, May 20th at Noxon Road Elementary. The polls are open from 6am – 9 pm. You will be voting on the school district budget and new school buses. For more information please refer to the Arlington’s Website.

The Noxon Road PTA encourages you to vote and support our school district.

June PTA Meeting/Dinner , Wednesday June 4:

All PTA members are welcome. Enjoy a nice dinner out and come say thanks to the 2007-2008 PTA members and volunteers, as well as welcome the new members for the 2008-2009 school year.

Where: Stockyard Restaurant (Rt. 82, Hopewell Junction, by Williams Lumber)
When: Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Time: 7:00pm
Price: $25.00 (includes 18% gratuity)

Price includes entrée (choice of beef, chicken, or fish), salad, rice, vegetable, bread, soft drinks, dessert, coffee and tea. Entrée will be ordered when everyone is seated.

Please RSVP by May 30, 2008. Please include cash or check made out to Noxon Road PTA. If you have any questions you can contact Karen.

Our next PTA meeting will be this coming Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm.
Our guest speaker will be Associate Superintendent Dr. Edward Lynn.
Please come join us for a presentation on the proposed budget for the Arlington School District.
Childcare will be provided by volunteers from AHS National Honor society.
(FYI the School Budget vote is on Tuesday, May 20th. )

This week is Staff Apprecation Week, many thanks to the Noxon Staff for making a wonderful difference in our children’s lives! In recognition of our “Blue Ribbon” staff, we are asking all boys and girls to wear blue on Wednesday, May 7th. On Friday, May 9th we will be honoring our staff with a brunch. If you are interested in helping with set-up, clean up or donating some “goodies” for this brunch, please call Cindy VanDermark at 227-0381.

PTA Mother’s Day Plant Sale will be held this Friday, May 9th in the school cafeteria. All plants are from Adams Fairacre farms.
Order forms will be sent home in backpack mail. Walk-ins are welcome.

Blood Drive: This Tuesday, April 29th, Noxon PTA is having a blood drive from 2:30 - 8 pm and we still need more donors. So far we have about 30 donors and we would like at least 44. Walk-ins are welcome . If you would like to register and reserve a time, or if you have any questions, please contact Sue Thoma at 226-4468.

Staff Appreciation: PTA Staff Appreciation week is May 5 - 9th. To honor the staff members we will be creating a Blue Ribbon Hallway Display. Please turn in the Blue Ribbon forms as soon as possible via backpack mail. If you have any questions call Debbie Verde at 227-6045.

NoxonTimes: The deadline for the spring issue is April 30th. Send your articles and photographs to noxontimes@hotmail.com.

Mother’s Day Plant Sale: Our annual PTA plant sale will be held this year on May 8&9th. All plants are supplied by Adams Fairacre Farms. This is a fund raiser for the PTA , the proceeds of this event support our school programs. More information will sent home in backpack mail.

Parent Meeting: The third meeting of the Arlington Special Ed. Support Network will be on Wednesday, April 30th at 7 pm in the school library at Noxon Road Elementary. Our guest speaker will be Freya Bomba - School Social Worker - AHS.

Join us as we discuss the very relevant and emotional component of parenting a child with special needs.

A member of the Arlington School Board will be our guest speaker and they will present the proposed School Budget for the 2008-09 school year. (Childcare will be provided)
